YOUR IDEAL STAY IN DOOR COUNTY
This property dates back to 1928 when the lodge was built and operated by Leathem D. Smith as Door County's first country club. In 1993, Chuck and Mary BuccolaLeathem Smith Lodge of Sturgeon Bay, Door County, Wisconsin rescued the Lodge from foreclosure and condemnation, after massive reconstruction have restored this facility yet retaining its historical charm in Nantucket-style architecture, rich in History, into a 'real find'. Leathem Smith Lodge is conveniently located on 12 acres of landscaped grounds adjoining Highway 42/57 on the north side of Bayview bridge on the Bay of Sturgeon Bay, midway between the Bay of Green Bay and Lake Michigan. The Lodge has reemerged as the place in Door County for upscale guest rooms, impeccable Suites, fine casual dining, meetings, wedding receptions, banquets and recreational facilities tendered to their guests with great pride and attention-to-detail professionalism - all part of your ideal stay in Door County at Leathem Smith Lodge.

Our Suites are known to be among the best available anywhere, just ask June Carter-Cash!ACCOMMODATIONS

LET THE FUN BEGIN

The Salmon are hitting!!!

We have been enjoying record years for our local Salmon fishery.  Come on up and join in the fun!

The Lodge is located on the doorstep of the water-surrounded Door Peninsula, on the Bay of Sturgeon Bay midway between the Bay of Green Bay and Lake Michigan. The northern tip of the peninsula is merely a one-hour drive, but of course, one would be remiss to overlook the many natural beauty highlights, quaint towns and picturesque lighthouses... we will be happy to help you 'map-out' a day's tour to enable you to retrace your steps to your favorite spots. What would you like to do... in addition to our on-site recreation, we recommend sightseeing, hiking, biking, swimming, shopping, art galleries and artisan shops, antique-ing, snowmobiling, fishing, boat rental, sunset or waterfront or day chartered cruises, golfing, cross-country skiing, sailing, horseback riding, folk theatre, concerts, big-band music... Door County has it all! We can also arrange for your off-property adventures, including Charter Fishing, golf and theater tickets. The Gift Shop in the Lodge has many items of clothing, souvenirs and sundries... all at very reasonable prices (after you've shopped elsewhere, you'll see what we mean). Sturgeon Bay offers a new Maritime Museum with wonderful Great Lakes exhibits, lots of shopping, movie theatre, winery featuring Door County apple and cherry wines, bike, ski and snowmobile rentals... or see World-class yachts being built at Palmer Johnson, Inc. or 1000 foot ore ships at Bay Shipbuilding ...you will be impressed.
